Update 2.1: Under the Inquisition's protection

Hello, Others!

Meet update 2.1. Here's what has changed.

🪞 Changing your specialization

Coach Viktor Pavlovich now works at the Druzhba Sports Complex in Luzhniki. If you've decided to change your specialization, go and see him: he'll help.

🛡️ Under the Inquisition's protection

Sometimes the same Other gets attacked again and again without a moment to catch their breath. Now, if you're attacked in an open battle, the Inquisition takes you under its protection for a while, and nobody can attack you again.

Protection has a flip side: while you're under the Inquisition's protection, you can't enter open battles yourself. Match search and quests remain available. Want to get back into the fray sooner? Just remove the protection effect.

Only the one who was attacked gets protection. The attacker and anyone who joined the battle later don't.

📜 Honest Record

Meeting someone is much more interesting when you see a real name rather than some "Dark Mage". The world of Blackout is modern, and we want the city to be full of names you could come across in real life.

Now, when you create a character, the game will tell you whether your chosen name fits. Choose a realistic first and last name, not necessarily your own, and get the "Honest Record" bonus: +30% experience from matches and quests for 14 days. You can still choose a different name, just without the bonus.

🗺️ Minimap and objectives

We've put a lot of work into the minimap and how objectives are shown. Now you can set it up the way you like:

  • Size and zoom. Pick a comfortable minimap size and decide whether you need the zoom buttons.
  • What to show. Organizations, new quests, quest objectives, players, humans, emotions, items, artifact search areas: turn on what matters and hide the rest.
  • Objects at the edge. Anything that doesn't fit on the minimap can be shown along its edge. That way a quest objective won't get lost, even when it's far away.
  • Camera view. If you move the camera away from your character, the minimap shows where you're looking and how far that is from you.

All of these settings are in the new "Minimap" section of the game settings. And if you happen to need it, objective display can also be set up for the main screen, in the "Camera" section.

Come and try it out. See you in Blackout!
